CVRM NASCAR Race Ministry at RIR

Once again, the Central Virginia Raceway Ministries (CVRM) has been granted the unique opportunity to minister through Guest Services at Richmond International Raceway during the September NASCAR weekend, September 5 & 6, 2008.  CVRM will have three sites for ministry, the Main site lot F, near gate 40 and at the Commonwealth Mall, serving along side guest services workers.  We are planning to have ten volunteers per shift, four at the main tent and three volunteers at each of the secondary sites as follow:

            Friday (9/5)        9am -1pm, 1-4pm, 4-7pm, 7-10pm for Nationwide Series Race

            Saturday (9/6)    9am-1pm, 1-4pm, 4-7pm, 7-10pm for Sprint Cup race

Our Logistics Team is also in need of additional man power for the set-up on Thursday, September 4, in both the morning and afternoon.  Assistance will also be needed for the take-down operation on Sunday, September 7, from 12:00 noon until 2:30 p.m.

VOLUNTEER ORIENTATION/TRAINING:  Please plan to attend our vitally important training session at the Richmond Baptist Association, 3111 Moss Side Avenue on Thursday, August 29, 2008 at 7:00 PM.  The agenda for this meeting includes a briefing by an RIR Guest Services official, discussion of Volunteer responsibilities, and the final review of the the schedule and plans for the weekend.  If you are interested in maybe participating in this ministry, this would be a good meeting to attend!  You can also sign up to volunteer at this meeting, if you have not already done so.
